JAF Gifts is a Joke! This company didn't ship my gift to me on time. In fact, they didn't ship until 3 weeks after I placed the order and called to speak to a customer service rep. The rep was completely clueless and unapologetic. Worst of all the order was incorrect!! I called again to get the correction made and they were not able to rectify the situation. They told me the gift had been discontinued and there was nothing they could do! Idiots running this company.

beautiful but the colors do not look anything like the photo... I was so eager to get this product, but when it arrived I was pretty disappointed. While it is definitely a beautiful and well-constructed item, the colors do not really match the photo. My guess is that the image was shot in extremely bright lighting, which is pretty common, but it makes the blue seem like the dominant color, when it really is not. A very ugly dark/forest green is the main color, and it only appears to be that lovely shade of blue in the limited spots where the internal tealight shines from within it. My flameless tealight (which I recommend for safety purposes), only catches a few glass frames, so those are blue but the majority of the other frames are the ugly shade of dark green. - Which kinda' makes it look more like an oversized Christmas ornament, with the red and yellow splashes of color. Oh well, I guess if you have great lighting it might not be an issue, but I'd hoped to hang it in the frame of my hallway, so I could see it from my living room and enjoy the play of light, but even with the tealight inside it was barely illuminated. My suggestion would be to use it as a "sunchaser" and dangle it from an outdoor patio that gets a lot of sunlight. gift for a good friend I got this as a gift for a good friend who had mentioned to me that she liked them when we saw this type of lanterns while out one night. Since my friend also loves candles I thought it would be an awesome gift. So far, she loves it and has mentioned how much prettier it is than any other star-shapped lanterns she has seen sold in other places. Stunning! I purchased this star lamp and recieved one of the most visually stunning decorative pieces I have ever had the fortune to come across. Of course it helps if you like the Morraccan/exotic style of decor for your home. It truly is a glowing wonder!

Excellent container garden ideas Of all the container garden books I read this spring, this was one of my favorites. The pictures are excellent. The book has "recipes" for containers, plant ideas for different kinds of containers, and also touches a bit on water gardening in containers. Its an all around great book for a beginning container gardener. IDEAS, IDEAS, IDEAS! I bought a few different container gardening books through Amazon and this one is my favorite for creative container display ideas. I appreciated that the full color photographs showed different arrangements of containers in yards, on decks, stairs, foyers, and under windows. There were also great tips on creating or modifying 'found' objects into planting containers. The information in the individual plant care section was sparse. However, but there was a key to foliage and fruit colors that is important in making beautiful displays. The strengths of this book are the ideas and photographs. Sometimes a good picture is the only motivation you need to get started! Who is the editor?? My order said the editor was Cathy Barash, the book says Eleanor Lewis wrote it and Kate Carter Frederick was the editor. I should have known better than to expect BETTER HOMES AND GARDENS CONTAINER GARDENS would have much of interest to me, but I try to keep an open mind. Unlike many of the "garden magazines" BG relies not on expert garden writers but on its own staff to produce garden copy. Furthermore, the photos in the articles mostly depict overly zestful compositions that distract rather than soothe, which makes me wonder how photography is handled. In spite of its overall shortcomings (who is in charge? who is writing, i.e. offering advice?), each section of the book has some strengths. In rather detailed chapters, the text discusses, accompanied by photos, the creation of various planting arrangements. For example, in the "Shallow Bowls" section we are shown which plants to add to the arrangement, how to select and fill the bowl with the planting medium, and how to arrange the plants. In this case an aster, a sedum, a mum, a fern, a variegated ivy, and an ornamental cabbage. Interestingly, although the text explains that the project is "easy" and the time involved is "1 hour" and the zones where this arrangement will work are "3-10", it does not explain that this is a fall arrangement that it can withstand some dryness but will succumb if over-watered, that it will have full sun requirements, and that it will probably not be easy to locate the listed plants "in bloom", as the text suggests, in the early summer months. Rather the text says you should "engage in a bit of advanced planning" and note when plants are at their peak (fall plants peak in autumn). In other words, this may not be an "easy" project for a beginner, but might prove easier for someone like myself who has been gardening a while. The next few pages of this section suggest various shallow bowl arrangements for different times of the year (although most shown are for spring), which is useful for someone who has been gardening a while and may not have tried primulas in pots (although I have done pansies, arrangements of sedum, and combinations of tulips). So, the question is who is the target audience? Is it the novice, the intermediate, or the old-timer? I think the novice could use the book, but don't expect it to tell you everything. You might want to buy McGee and Stuckey's BOUNTIFUL CONTAINER as your first book. Buy this one for the photos which aren't all bad.

Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. The conch represents the sound that creates Akash. The laddu (sweet) represents Sattva. The snakes represent control over the poisons of the passions and refer to Shiva, father of Ganesha. Apples-Applesauce Beautiful pictures help the children understand how applesauce is made and the process that is involved. Great book to use with a cooking activity. A is for Apple - Applesauce I bought this book as part of a fall curriculum for our home school. My son is 6 and non-verbal. He is a very kinesthetic learner. I found the story in this book a very accessible home and garden tale. The pictures are really fun and the characters are easy to identify with. We read the book a few times over the course of a week. I added a song (my son responds well to music) and we were able to use the song to act out the story and make our own apple sauce and gingerbread. The applesauce recipe in the book was very easy and tasty too! You can see our Apple Daze based on the Applesauce book at: [...]

Southern Lady: Gracious Tables: The Perfect Setting for Any Occasion
By Phyllis Hoffman

Amazon Sales Rank: #43074 in Books Published on: 2007-10-01 Released on: 2007-10-09 Original language: English Number of items: 1 Binding: Hardcover 256 pages
About the Author A leading figure in the publishing industry, Phyllis Norton Hoffman is majority owner and president of Hoffman Media, LLC. A native of Hoover, AL, and a graduate of the University of Alabama in Birmingham, she began her career as a Certified Public Accountant with a nationally known firm before founding a special-interest publication company in 1983 that is now known as Hoffman Media, LLC. Hoffman is recognized industry-wide as a savvy businesswoman and talented entrepreneur. She serves as the creative engine of the company, producing an ever-widening range of beautiful magazines including TeaTime, Southern Lady, Just Cross Stitch, Sew Beautiful, and Taste of the South. She is also a sought-after speaker across the country, a devoted wife and mother and a church and community leader. Hoffman lives with her family in Birmingham, AL.
Gracious.....As Always! Being very familiar with Southern Lady magazine, which Phyllis Hoffman publishes, I expected this book to be gorgeous & I wasn't disappointed. It is full of beautiful photos of all different kinds of table settings along with Ms. Hoffman's very tasteful commentary. If you love 'pretty things' & you appreciate gracious living, you'll love this book. There are a number of recipes also, and having used so many recipes from 'Southern Lady', I trust these are as delicious. If you're a lover of fine dinnerware, silver & glassware, you'll wish you had all the lovely patterns; I know I do! I've already enjoyed this book so very much, and with the timeless elegance & good taste of Ms. Hoffman's ideas, I know I'll continue to do so. Bought on basis of previous reviews I purchased this book after reading reviews of it on amazon.com and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK. It is everything previously said and more. First, her dinnerware is beautiful - from the simple to the extravagant. All of her table arrangements are fresh and new ideas - not the same old stuff seen in other tabletop books I own. And, even though she may use expensive things (not all are), her ideas and design can easily be duplicated with what you may own. I am a dish fanatic not a cook. But, I was even interested in checking out the recipes and the beautifully displayed food. Then, near the end of the book, she has added beautiful and quaint drawings of the different types of dinnerware, explaining what each piece/shape is used for, e.g. cream soup cup and saucer...bouillon cup and saucer...luncheon plate...fruit saucer, etc. The next bonus is a section on artful flowers - again, designs that can easily be imitated/duplicated. Everything in the book has that "welcoming" feeling - even the formal table settings. If you are a dinnerware aficionado, you must have this book. I love it and know I will reference it frequently. Beautiful Book This was a beautiful book, my only negative was I thought it would have even more photographs. I am not a "cook", so while the recipes were wonderful (or looked to be) to me this is not why I bought the book. It was a beautiful book though and for anyone who entertains regularly is a must.

Toro Rake & Vac 10.5 Amp 2-Speed Electric Blower/Vacuum #51574
From Toro

Amazon Sales Rank: #22199 in Home Improvement Brand: Toro Model: 51574 Released on: 2007-01-01 Number of items: 1 Dimensions: 10.00" h x 20.50" w x 48.00" l, 10.00 pounds
Toro's Rake & Vac is three machines in one--powerful blower, high speed vacuum, and a leaf shredder. It's compact, contemporary styling is well balanced, comfortable to use and easy to maneuver. It has up to 215 mph air speed in blow mode and has two speeds so you can control the air speed when you are working in tight or restricted areas. The Rake & Vac requires no tools to change from blow mode to vac mode. When in vac mode you can reduce eight bags of leaves to one bag. Our exclusive cord-lock system holds the power cord firmly in place so your extension cod will never come unplugged from the unit while you are using it.
Toro Electric Leaf Blower / Vac 10.5 AMP - Wins On Convenience The Toro 10.5 Amp 2-Speed Electric Blower/Vacuum #51574 is a nice unit that has the power to handle most yards. While not as powerful as some of the gas powered leaf blowers, this guy really wins on convenience. Being able to quickly finish a small area without having to worry about the correct mixture of oil and gasoline is worth the trade offs. It won't satisfy the professional landscaper or the homeowner trying to groom 2 acres, but it's going to meet the needs of many people with average sized lawns. In my case, I actually do own a gas powered unit by Poulan and a different Toro electric model. While the gas unit has some nice extra features and great power, I have found that after not starting it in a while it is difficult to start up again. So this Toro unit eliminates that problem, because whenever I have to quickly gather up fresh fallen leaves I can just plug it in and go. Now one of the drawbacks to an electric leaf blower is just that, dealing with having to plug it in and managing the extension cord. I have found that I can do about 3000 square feet within 4 hours. It only takes me a little while to move the cord around as I work. Just one note about extension cords. These blowers do use a fair amount of electricity. So don't skimp on the extension cord. Make sure you use a grounded cord that is rated for exterior use. I err on the side of caution and use a contractor grade exterior extension cord, because it's important to be safe when using electrical equipment. Some of the better ones on Amazon are made by Coleman such as the Coleman Cable 02469 14/3 100-Foot Hi-Visibility/Low-Temperature Outdoor Extension Cord or the Coleman Cable 02569 12/3 100-Foot Hi-Visibility/Low-Temperature Outdoor Extension Cord. While those prices may seem high, they are an affordable way to have peace of mind when using electric power tools outdoors. Pros + The blower has enough power to move dirt and leaves well + Requires no regular maintenance other than basic surface cleaning + More convenient than gas powered units that require fuel and oil mixing + The plug tucks neatly and securely into a small rear hook, so it won't come loose + The rear bar also allows you to keep your extension cord tied securely + The price is pretty good, and much less than a gas powered unit + The looping handle and front bar allow you two handed control + The air intake has a grate for easy access to remove debris + The power dial is located conveniently under the handle + The included nozzle concentrates air flow into powerful bursts + Leaf vac option, though not with much power (see below) Cons - Less power than a gas powered unit for larger properties or frequent use - This model doesn't shred leaves very much, best used as a blower only - Has a slightly noisy motor when on high, though this is true of most blowers - Have to purchase and use extension cords, which add a little cost - The front nozzle is not very durable and will wear with use - The unit is not well balanced so you must shift it from hand to hand - The cost of electricity will exceed that of gas for very large yards, so keep that in mind There are some cons as you can see, but they are relatively minor. Despite the shortcomings, this is a great unit to supplement your gas powered blower or completely replace it if your needs are less. I find I use this unit much more than my gas powered unit simply out of the convenience of not having to constantly tune up the other unit before use. While this one has less power and a few less features, it's more than enough to meet my week to week needs during the fall. You should check it out. Enjoy. Toro Rake & Vac 51574--less vibration, lighter vs Toro Ultra 51599 I needed an electric blower for a 9-unit apartment building, for sweeping the balcones, stairwells, patio and carports. I didn't need heavy lawn raking or mulching capability. I wanted one without exhaust fumes and as quiet as possible as I prefer not having tenants throw eggs and hand grenades at me, so gas blowers were right out. These Toros were top rated by Consumer Reports, and the local Home Depot had these two on display out-of-box. As a certifiable gadget-itis afflicted Star Trek fanatic, I was all set to get the fancier one... the red 51599 Ultra. The black 51574 was noticeably lighter though--6.5 vs 7.5 lbs. The Ultra had variable speed vs 2 fixed speeds....however the fixed speeds were not too far inside the extremes of the Ultra--roughly 5% above and 10% below...so it appeared I could trade off maximum quiet for maximum power roughly as well. I also didn't need the mulching capability of the metal impeller. Still, I decided to try them both. For my application, the Rake & Vac had more than enough power even at the lower speed. Therefore the variable speed of the Ultra was cool, but not particularly useful. The vacuum function on both was fairly weak....I don't think I'd bother digging out and changing the attachments for vacuuming, manuevering this clunky configuration above the debris, unzipping the blower bag into the trash then storing the vacuum attachments then changing back to the blower attachment...it's faster just dustpanning blown debris into our wheeled trash bins. Both had approximately the same relatively tolerable whitish noise spectrum i.e. no irritating tones or whining, like some hairdryer-like blowers. It's a shame spectral diagrams of products' noise are not given by manufacturers...they make a big difference to users. They were also reasonably quiet, though I'd prefer quieter....the Toro website lists them at about 63dBA both at the lower speed...important for an apartment building. Additionally, hearing a blower speed vary is more noticeable than a constant speed...as anyone subjected to a gas leaf blower's operator constantly varying the speed can attest. But the Rake & Vac's surprising smoothness clinched it for me. I vastly preferred using it...not only is it significantly lighter, but it had much less vibration. This gave it a quality, well balanced feel, vs the rough, buzzy, heavy feel of the Ultra. Looking at the Toro website, the 7.5 pound weight of the Ultra vs the 6.5 pounds of the Rake & Vac is mainly from the 12 amp vs 10.5 amp motor, with another 1 pound maybe from the metal vs. plastic impeller. I'm guessing the vibration could be a badly balanced metal impeller, or maybe just the larger motor. As the Rake & Vac has more than enough power for my application, I might still try the lighter 4.6 pound Toro Power Sweep 51585, but I suspect it will have a whiny noise spectrum that might be quieter in the dBA sense but more annoying... If you need that metal impeller or variable speed, you might prefer the Ultra...otherwise you'll probably prefer the lighter, smoother, cheaper Rake & Vac. Great Tool I bought this to vacuum the leaves out of my window wells. From there I used it in the yard and gutters. It did a great job, and I used the mulched leaves to cozy flowers in for our long North Dakota winters. It became quite popular with the neighbors as well... In all I feel that it has already paid back the investment several times over.

Victorinox Swiss Army Camper Pocket Knife with AA LED Flashlight
From Victorinox

Camper Knife Flashlight AA Batteries.
Amazon Sales Rank: #4152 in Sports & Outdoors Size: One Size Color: Red Brand: Victorinox Model: 58525 Dimensions: 3.00" h x 4.75" w x 8.00" l,
The perfect gift for the outdoor enthusiasts on your holiday shopping list, the Swiss Army Camper pocket knife and LED flashlight gift set makes a perfect stocking stuffer. From the makers of the original Swiss Army knife, this Victorinox Swiss Army gift set includes a 13-function pocket knife and an LED flashlight. The Camper pocket knife features a large blade, small blade, corkscrew, can opener, small screwdriver (for Phillips screws), bottle opener, large screwdriver, wire stripper, reamer, wood saw, tweezers, toothpick, and key ring. The LED flashlight is very efficient in converting energy into light than regular incandescent bulbs, resulting in a longer battery life. For brilliant light emission, the LED lights produce a brilliant uniform light allowing for maximum, more effective usage. The innovative rubber grip feature provides the benefit of a non-slip handle as well as additional ergonomic comfort. Camper Knife Details: Blade Length: 3.25 inches Blade Type: Straight edge Handle Length: 3.5 inches Large blade Small blade Can opener with small screwdriver Bottle opener with large screwdriver and wire stripper Wood saw Reamer with sewing eye Corkscrew Toothpick Tweezers Key ring Flashlight Details: Includes AA batteries High-efficiency LED light bulb should last approximately 10,000 hours Rubber handle for a non-slip grip About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.
Victorinox Swiss Army Camper Combo - Great Stocking Stuffer The Victorinox Swiss Army Camper Pocket Knife with AA LED Flashlight is a great stocking stuffer. There are not too many negative things you can say about this item. The flashlight does feel relatively light-duty, and you may pay a small premium for the Victorinox / Swiss Army brand. But it's nicely packaged and is a no brainer as an extra holiday gift. The only real caveat I can add besides that is that hard-core campers would probably need a multi-tool with more features and longer tools than the included knife. So if you need this for serious camping, I probably don't have to tell you that you should be looking at larger multi-tools like the Leatherman Blast Multitool. Still, it's a pretty minor point because ultimately this is a very nice gift no matter what the marketing label is. PROS: + Very nice gift set is a no-brainer as a stocking stuffer + LED flashlight runs on AA batteries, which is better than others that run on AAA + LED light will also last longer than traditional bulbs + Attractive display case makes for easy gift wrapping + The included mini-tools on the knife are great, especially the mini-saw + Nice large key ring allows easy attachment to keys or a carabineer + Rubber grip on flash light lets you keep your grip + Both items compact enough to easily fit in your pocket CONS: - The flashlight feels *light duty* relative to other Victorinox products - Based upon the flashlight's feel, not sure how it would stand up to wet camping conditions - The unit may not meet the needs of hardcore *campers* like a multi-tool - Priced at a premium I almost bought a similar set that was priced about the same but had a flashlight that required a AAA battery. I have rechargeable batteries in both sizes, but the AA is still more convenient since I always have more of them handy. That tipped the scales towards this set for me. Those who want to use the AAA flashlight can look at the Victorinox Swiss Army Soldier with AAA LED combo set. The knife from this set is also very similar to the Victorinox Swiss Army Huntsman Pocket Knife model sans the mini-scissors. The most important tool included with this one and not with many other models is the mini-saw. This is the only thing that made me think one of the multi-tools might be better for camping, since the larger versions have mini-saws that are longer and more useful for cutting. CONCLUSION This is a very convenient set that is worth the small premium in price. The cons are relatively minor. As a gift or stocking stuffer, this is a no-brainer. I'm glad that nobody I know in real life reads my reviews so hopefully they will be surprised to find this in their stocking this holiday. You should check it out. Enjoy. Two Great Products! I received this last week and absolutely love it. I did buy it for more than I see today, but like it so much that I'm buying a few as gifts. I'm not really sure what the other reviewer was talking about when discussing the camper's wood saw. It is an extremely well reviewed feature within the family of Swiss Army products. I use mine on many trips for small cutting projects and it has held up very well for it's use. As for the flashlight, it is a very good flashlight. I would have to say that it is at least twice as powerful as my old maglite and the red rubber grip handle is both good looking and highly functional (slip resistant). As this "deal of the day" price, this product is a steal. Nice set Well, the knife is the knife - who can beat swiss army in this niche! The flashlight could be better though. The rotational switch is tight, and once your hands are wet or just in grease it might be hard to turn it on and off. It is sturdy and pretty small, light and bright.

You won't learn French from this A great idea poorly executed (zero stars isn't an option). Nouns are given sometimes with the definite article, sometimes the indefinite, occasionally the partitive (why "les sandales" but "des bon-bons"? why "le sucre" but "de l'argent"?), and a few without articles (e.g., seasons); some translations are odd choices, and there are some outright mistakes (e.g., "un orteil" is given as the translation for "toe," but also for "wrist" and "elbow"). This wasn't created by a French speaker and it doesn't speak well of Intuitive Learning Company's products. I've already opened the package, so it's too late to return it. Fun, fun, fun shower curtain Learn a foreign language while showering! This shower curtain concept is so unique and comes in other language versions. And the curtain and ring hole materials are of really good quality.

From Mogul Interior

Ganesha is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. Although he is known by many other attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify.Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of ObstaclesHe may be portrayed standing, dancing, heroically taking action against demons, playing with his family as a boy, sitting down, or engaging in a range of contemporary situations.Ganesha is identified with the Hindu mantra Aum (also called Om) All spiritual worship in the Hindu tradition begins with the invocation of Ganesha (or Ganesh), the elephant-headed god.Ganesha rides a mouse that represents the subjugated demon of vanity and impertinence. The conch represents the sound that creates Akash. The laddu (sweet) represents Sattva. The snakes represent control over the poisons of the passions and refer to Shiva, father of Ganesha. The Orvis Book of Cabins
By Amy Laughinghouse

From the Back Cover

The Orvis Book of Cabins celebrates this beloved form of rural design with cabin getaways owned by people who love the outdoors: anglers, hunters, hikers, paddlers, and those who feel most at home when close to nature. A beautifully produced full-color book, this volume showcases cabins small and large, rustic and sophisticated, in all parts of North America, from Maine to Montana, from North Carolina to California. Some have been in a family for generations while others are newly built or completely remodeled. All provide inspiration for living the dream of an active lifestyle, from the perfect setting for a cabin to adapting a structure for fullest enjoyment of the outdoor world, be it near shorelines, woodlands, or mountains. Nineteen homes in all are featured with scores of others pictured in individual photos.

Comprehensive Cabin Book5
This isn't just a book of pretty pictures. Although it is beautifully illustrated, "The Orvis Book of Cabins" delves beneath the glossy surface of standard coffee table books to offer really useful and interesting information. It covers subject like how to site your cabin, making the most of loft space, suggestions for storing sports equipment, kitchen and bath decorating ideas, and floor plans for a comfortable-looking 1500 square foot cabin. The author also tells the stories of nearly 20 different cabin owners, discovering what drew them to this lifestyle, what challenges they faced in building, and ultimately, the rewards they've reaped from their cabin retreats. Two of the homeowners include country singer Charlie Daniels and Kathy L'Amour, the widow of novelist Louis L'Amour, and while it was great to get a sneak peak into their lives, I also enjoyed reading about the "regular" people, like the man who felled and stacked his own logs (and whose mother wore her fingerprints off spreading the chinking) and a couple who camped out and bathed in a Minnesota lake while restoring a 1920s cabin that most people would have just knocked down. They seem like the kind of friends you would like to have over for dinner, swapping stories in front of a roaring fireplace in your own cozy cabin.

Great selection of cabins, big & small, & useful design ideas5
This book offers an extensive cross-section of 19 cabins all across the U.S., from grand lodges to plenty of cozy, humble getaways. A few of the more rustic examples include "Building a Cabin from Scratch," which the owner built with his family in the North Woods of Wisconsin; "A Simple Boat House" in Maine, with "unfinished" walls that double as bookshelves; and "Casting Call," a cabin in North Carolina made with cleverly recycled elements. Fans of the late Wild West novelist Louis L'Amour will be intrigued by the article about his ranch in Colorado, and there's also an interesting look at the Tennessee log home and remarkably down-to-earth lifestyle of the legendary Charlie Daniels. I found the design sections--with advice on things like "creating antique patina" to give newer cabins more character, innovative storage ideas, selecting a wood stove and designing a fireplace, building interesting bathrooms, and planning outdoor rooms and outbuildings--extremely helpful. (One of my favorites: the dog house on page 101.) This is a great book for hands-on planning and gathering design ideas, as well as a beautifully photographed record of a type of home that is an art form unto itself. A great Christmas gift and must-have for cabin lovers.

A very special form of rural architecture5
In "The Orvis Book Of Cabins", freelance writer and interior design expert Amy Laughinghouse celebrates a very special form of rural architecture through profiling more than eighteen cabin getaways that cater to anglers, hunters, hikers, canoe paddlers, and simple lovers of nature. Beautifully photographed in full color, the cabins range from small and simple to large and rustic. Some have been the home to generations of families, while others are either newly built or completely remodeled. But all of them are superb examples of an active Orvis lifestyle catering to the enjoyment of the outdoor worlds of mountains, lakes, rivers, and woodlands through every season of the year. "The Orvis Book Of Cabins" is especially recommended for browsing by non-specialist general readers with an interest in cabin architecture and interior design, and of immense value as a reference for professional architects and anyone planning to build a cabin of their own!

Are you kidding?? This desk is AWESOME!5
I bought this desk a couple of months ago, and it is so sturdy that I have stood on top of it to reach my ceiling! It holds all of my equipment, and for the love of god, it is only a couple hundred bucks!! I am thinking about buying another one for the other side of my office. Love it. If you are even thinking about getting this thing, go ahead and take the plunge. It will be worth it. And for the clown who said the holes are not "pre-drilled", he did not read the directions, because I ran into the same thing, and once I flipped the piece over, it worked great. One last thing: Did he really think that it was going to be "Antique" black? Black, yes. Antique, no. But then again, I do not really go to Amazon.com or Target to purchase most of my antique heirlooms. Maybe that is just me.

Sweet desk! Just a few extra steps needed...4
The desk is good solid wood, and on the overall pretty sturdy. The black finish could have been thicker; there's spots on the legs where its more of black sheen then a actual paint job. For down pressure it's VERY sturdy, but if you plan on moving it and having it last for the long term; then I recommend a couple extra steps to putting it together.

Pick up 8 L brackets and secure the top to the legs. 8 sheet rock screws aren't a lot to hold up the weight of the legs. 6 bucks, 16 drilled holes, and a extra 15 minutes for that little extra peace of mind.

Drill 4 more holes through the support piece that is preinstalled on the top piece into the leg piece and then run a 2" screw through it to provide a extra "pin" for overall support.

Be carefully when moving it.. The weight of the legs warps the middle a fair amount when being lifted on both ends by two people. ***I may get a 2"x2" 64 inches long and run it along the back as a extra brace. I'm a big fan of long lastesting sturdiness.***

Last but not least, pick up a good furniture wax and give the top a good buffing before use. After that a little Pledge in the high use spots, and I have yet to have any issues with scratching.

On the overall its a great desk and I love the total surface area it provides. Just needs a few extra steps to make sure it lasts.

High Quality4
What a nice desk. It's solid with a perfectly done finish and took less than 30 minutes to assemble. Everything shipped in good shape with nothing missing. I only wish it had a pullout keyboard tray and enough room in the trestle area to store a CPU. Otherwise am absolutely thrilled with the quality and look of the desk.

BBC Gardeners World

This magazine offers ideas, advice, and inspiration to all gardeners. Each issue gives you a unique link to BBC gardening experts, such as Alan Titchmarsh with many experts writing exclusively for the magazine.

Highly Reccomend5
If you enjoy gardening, then this is the magazine for you. Gardner's World is a tome of gardening how-to. It includes reviews of plants, projects, gardening-related news blips and so much more. While the magazine if based out of the UK, and I live in California, I still find it useful and inspiring. This and Organic Gardening are the only gardening magazines that I have found to avail any useful information whatsoever. If buy no other gardening literature & keep the magazines you order you still will have built a praiseworthy gardening library.

Best gardening mazazine out there5
The BBC Gardeners World magazine is the best gardening magazine that I have ever seen. I receive at least 10 other gardening magazines (most are monthly) and I am most impressed with the Gardeners World. There are many beautiful photos and great articles by a number of well-respected gardeners. They touch on a lot of different areas of gardening, i.e. composting, soil quality, new plant selections, before and after pictures of gardens, make it yourself garden projects, and much more. It is more pricey than other magazines (mostly related to the air shipment) but it is a definite treat for yourself or a very special gift for someone who wouldn't spend the money on themselves.

Magna-Rake with Hardwood Handle - 14in.
From Northern Tool and Equipment

Powerful magnetic draw quickly and efficiently removes metal debris. Its teeth dig down below the surface to pick up nails and screws from dirt, sand, gravel, wood chips and grass. Flip it over to clear metal hazards from smooth surfaces such as driveways and garages. Great for cleaning worksites, lawns, playgrounds, sand courts and more. Lightweight aluminum head with ceramic magnets and hardwood handle. 59in.L. 1-year limited warranty. Dimensions L x W x H (in.): 14L, Handle Length (in.): 59, Application: Magna rake, Material: Aluminum head with ceramic magnets

The Magna Rake SUCKS!1
The Magna Rake SUCKS!

I bought this after watching the video on the Magna-Rake web site, but I realized that there was a trick in the video when I actually tried the product: Everywhere they picked up things in the video, the ground was always soft (sand, grass, etc). If you try to rake up items out of firmer earth, this product is practically worthless.

For example, if you're in a newly built home and there are nails all over in the back yard buried slightly in the dirt, and the ground isn't as soft as sand, this product will not work.

Look at it and think about - the teeth of the rake are triangular, not fang-shaped like a regular rake, so it's MUCH more difficult to break up the ground to loosen up any metal objects under the surface. You'll find that the most you'll pick up with this on hard ground is maybe some iron filings.

Also, don't count on this being as light as a regular rake. Due to the magnet in the head, it's a lot heavier. You'll tire of carrying this tool around quicker than you might think.

As an alternative, I recommend something like the '24" Magnetic Sweeper for Concrete, Carpet or Grass' as an alternative. This design rolls along right above the ground (pushed or pulled, like a child's toy) and picks up the nails out of the ground. It also has a release lever, which drops off all the collected objects. I bought a knockoff of this at Home Depot, and it worked 100x better than the Magna Rake.

Bottom line: Avoid this product and spend your money on an alternative. When you spend that kind of money for what is essentially a heavy, worthless yard rake (you can't even use it as a regular rake because of those worthless teeth and the weight), you expect a lot more from the product. I tried to use it for about 15 minutes and threw it in the garage, where it sits under cheaper, more used tools - and it hasn't moved from since that day I got it.

By the way - I have no idea what the other two reviewers that gave this 5 stars were thinking - maybe they're company shills for the Magna Rake makers...

Works like a charm5
I pulled about 4 pounds of nails out of the mud and dirt behind my garage with this rake. It works perfect and is a bargain at this price.

The best magnetic cleanup tool hands down5
By combining teeth with the great idea of a magnetic sweep, the magna rake performs better than any others for multi purpose job cleanup. It gets the nails that are in the dirt by 'digging in'. A must if you remodel or build, and one of the best prices too!
